Japanese Sencha

We source our Sencha directly from well established growers in Watarai-cho, Mie Prefecture, in a mountainous area on the Miyagawa River in Japan.  Since the early 70’s Watarai Tea has been cultivating Sencha here without the use of any synthetic fertilizers or pesticides simply because it produces better quality tea!  An intensive program of composting and soil cultivation, along with centuries old traditional care for the land, the plants, and (most of all) the people is producing some of Japan’s finest Sencha.  With no middle man, we are please to be able to stand behind the quality and integrity of this delicious and healthy tea.
